Rasmussen
Documentation of Iben Nagel Rasmussen's work with
her international group The Bridge of Winds
While Iben Nagel Rasmussen's acclaimed work as a performer and
key member of Odin Teatret has been well documented, she has also
been leading The Bridge of Winds since 1989, and the
transmission processes which have been key to the work she has been
doing with this international group will be documented on film for
the first time in December 2011 for the project Meetings with
Remarkable Women - You Are Someone's Daughter.
This project, directed by Virginie Magnat (University of British
Columbia) and funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research
Council of Canada, investigates the creative research of women from
different cultures and generations who share a direct connection
to Jerzy Grotowski's approach. Rasmussen considers her
own artistic approach to have been significantly influenced by
Grotowski and informed by her training with members of his
Laboratory Theatre.
The documentary film will be created in Denmark by Magnat and
her collaborators Francesco Galli, and Celeste Taliani, two members
of the project's documentation team, as well as Chiara Crupi from
OTA - Odin Teatrets Archive, in close consultation with Rasmussen
and in partnership with the Odin Teatret.
